Over 1.56 lakh foreigners were detected, 30 000 deported Assam ministers

According to the 1985 Assam Accord provisions, more than 1.56 lakh illegal foreigners have been detected in the state, with over 30,000 of them deported so far, Minister Atul Bora told the state Assembly on Wednesday.

Bora stated that 1,56,651 illegal foreigners have been identified in the state as of July 31, 2023, in response to a question from Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) legislator Ramendra Narayan Kalita.
