Over 100 Leaders Join AGP Ahead of Panchayat Elections

In a key political development, over 100 individuals, including former AASU, AAP, and Congress members, joined the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) at an induction program in Sonapur.

Dimoria Legislative Council president Srikanta Deka presided, while AGP general secretary Dr. Tapan Das welcomed new members. The inductees cited the AGP’s regionalist vision and commitment to protecting Assamese identity as reasons for joining.

Prominent AGP leaders attended the event, which also discussed election strategies. The Dimoria constituency, comprising 14 panchayats, is a focus area for AGP’s grassroots expansion.
