PM Modi Celebrates Assam’s Culture at Jhumoir Binandini

Over 9,000 Jhumur dancers turned Sarusajai Stadium into a sea of red and white during Jhumoir Binandini on Monday, showcasing Assam’s rich culture with traditional dances and music.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, attending the event, played a traditional drum and connected with the tea tribe community, recalling his “chaiwala” roots. He emphasized government initiatives for tea garden workers, including bonuses, ₹15,000 aid for pregnant women, and education projects like 350 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs and Model Tea Garden Schools.
He also announced ₹25,000 support for tea tribe entrepreneurs and inaugurated Advantage Assam 2.0 later that evening.
