PM Modi to Lay Foundation Stone of Kaziranga Elevated Corridor in January 2026

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone of the Kaziranga Elevated Corridor in January 2026, Assam Agriculture Minister Atul Bora said on Wednesday.

The 34.45-km corridor, part of a ₹6,957-crore project approved by the CCEA, will run through Kaziranga National Park to protect wildlife movement across NH-715. Quoting Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Bora said the project aims to reduce animal deaths while improving connectivity.

The project also includes four-laning and bypasses, and is expected to generate large-scale employment, though concerns have been raised by activists over its impact on the park’s ecology.
