Police Rescue Four Trafficked Girls in Arunachal Pradesh, Arrest 15 Perpetrators

In a significant operation, Arunachal Pradesh Police conducted a raid in Itanagar, rescuing four girls reportedly trafficked from Assam. The victims, minors forced into prostitution, were saved from an alleged brothel. Among the 15 arrested in connection with the case are alleged traffickers, including Techi Rina alias Ania and Jamlo Tagung. The traffickers operated through deceptive means, luring girls with promises of jobs and then coercing them into sex work. Extensive investigation led to the arrest of eight individuals who assaulted the minors, as well as three associated with hotels facilitating the crimes. Legal actions are underway, with authorities also seeking to cancel licenses of implicated hotels. The case has been reported to the Child Welfare Committee, with efforts ongoing to dismantle the trafficking ring.
