Assam Education Minister Announces Integration of Vocational Courses into Higher Education Curriculum

Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu revealed plans to remove vocational courses from the Higher Education syllabus in the state, aiming to integrate them into the existing Arts, Science, and Commerce streams. This decision, announced during the Golden Jubilee celebrations of the Board of Secondary Education Assam (SEBA) Workers Association, seeks to provide students with holistic education combining both knowledge and skills. Pegu emphasized the importance of imparting dual forms of education and the need for teachers with expertise in multiple domains. Initially introduced at the higher education level, this integration will later extend to school curriculums. Dignitaries including Chairman of Adarsha Vidyalaya Sangathan Professor Nani Gopal Mahanta and SEBA Chairman Shri Ramesh Chand Jain attended the event, highlighting the significance of the announcement.
