Possible hailstorm on January 17 in few Districts of Assam

A thunder, lightning, and hailstorm advisory was alerted in many Districts of Assam on January 17 by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday.

The state’s 10 districts – Morigaon, Nagaon, Sonitpur, Biswanath, Lakhimpur, Sivasagar, Dhemaji, Charaideo, Dibrugarh, and Tinsukia are expected to have hailstorms, according to the Regional Meteorological Centre in Guwahati.

In the meanwhile, it also predicted that heavy fog will persist in a number of the state’s regions throughout the early hours of January 16.
