Ranji Trophy: Andhra defeats Assam convincingly

At the Jalan Outdoor Stadium in Dibrugarh on Monday, Andhra Pradesh recorded their first victory of the season, defeating hosts Assam by 172 runs and earning six points in an Elite Group B encounter. After three games, Andhra has nine points.

Before being bowled out for 190 in 48.2 overs, Assam managed to add 109 runs to their overnight score while chasing a formidable 363.

Captain Ri-yan Parag finished the night with 75, while wick-etkeeper-batter Sumit Gha-digaonkar put up a fight with his 60 (102 balls) following his expulsion.

However, Andhra bowlers continued to take wickets at regular intervals, so he was without assistance at the other end.
