Renowned Short Story Writer Dr. Pranabjyoti Deka Dies at 85

Dr. Pranabjyoti Deka, a celebrated short story writer and recipient of the Sahitya Akademi Award, passed away at the age of 85 in Guwahati. He had been undergoing treatment at the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital for the past four days. Born on July 21, 1939, in Kolkata, Dr. Deka was honored with the Sahitya Akademi Award for his book ‘Dr. Pranavjyoti Dekar Srestha Galpa’ in December of the previous year.
