Residents Protest Against Pollution from Brewery in Sonitpur

Residents of six villages near Ghoramari in Sonitpur district have accused Sunit Breweries Private Limited of polluting their water and land by releasing untreated effluents. They allege that the brewery operates without a proper treatment system, causing a foul odor and health hazards, including cancer risks. Despite multiple complaints, the Pollution Control Board and local authorities have taken no action. Locals also claim the company failed to provide promised jobs. Urging CM Himanta Biswa Sarma to intervene, they warned of protests if the issue remains unaddressed.
