Ripun Bora Criticizes BJP’s Budget as Misleading and Underutilized

Congress leader Ripun Bora accused the BJP-led Assam government of mismanaging the 2024-25 budget, with only 49% of funds utilized. Highlighting poor spending in key sectors like tourism (11%) and industry (19%), Bora questioned how the remaining 51% would be spent in two months. He criticized the government’s reliance on external funds and warned that the upcoming budget would be election-oriented. Bora also condemned the government for failing to secure MGNREGA funds and alleged excessive borrowing, which he claimed has hindered Assam’s development.
