Robotic Survey Finds 12 Faulty Joints in Guwahati Water Pipeline
During the 15th Assam Assembly budget session, Public Health Engineering Minister Jayanta Malla Baruah revealed that a robotic survey identified 12 faulty joints in Guwahati’s main water supply pipeline. He attributed frequent pipeline bursts to poor-quality work by previous contractors. Experts from IIT Guwahati are assisting with the issue. The Guwahati Jal Board postponed further surveys due to water scarcity, sparking public anger as the shutdown aligned with the Advantage Assam 2.0 event starting February 25.
