Royal Bengal Tigress With Cubs Spotted in Assam’s Poba Reserve Forest

Forest officials in Assam’s Dhemaji district have reported the movement of a Royal Bengal tigress along with her cubs in the riverine areas of Poba Reserve Forest over the past few days.
Pugmarks were found in the Oiramghat and Kobuchapori areas near the border with Arunachal Pradesh. Officials said the tigress recently killed a domestic cow that had entered the forest for grazing.
Villagers in nearby areas have been alerted not to enter the forest or allow cattle to graze there. Wildlife officials said the sighting is significant as tiger movement has been confirmed in the region after nearly two decades through a recent camera-trap survey in the adjoining Daying Ering Wildlife Sanctuary.
Officials described the development as a positive sign for conservation and eco-tourism, while urging residents not to panic.
