RTI Activist Dulal Bora Arrested Over Extortion and Multiple Charges

RTI activist Dulal Bora was arrested by the Delhi Crime Branch amidst allegations of extortion, conspiracy, and cheating. He faces 31 criminal cases, including involvement in the death of BJP worker Debajit Hazarika.

Bora was detained at Kalra Hospital, West Delhi, and is expected to appear in court today. Assam Police is on the way to secure his custody.

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma stated that Bora will be “treated as a criminal” and has instructed the Assam State Information Commission (ASIC) to take strict action for his misuse of the RTI Act.
