Security Forces Destroy 65 Acres of Illegal Poppy Cultivation in Manipur

Security forces in Manipur destroyed nearly 65 acres of illicit poppy cultivation during coordinated operations over the past two days. Joint teams involving police, forest officials and district authorities uprooted about 10 acres in Churachandpur district and around 55 acres in Kangpokpi district. Materials used for cultivation and temporary huts at the sites were also dismantled. Police said such drives will continue as part of the state’s ongoing crackdown on illegal poppy cultivation and narcotics activities.
