Sikkim Introduces ₹50 Entry Fee for Tourists

The Sikkim government has made a ₹50 entry fee mandatory for all tourists under the Sikkim Registration of Tourist Trade Rules, 2025. Collected during hotel check-ins, the fee is deposited into the Tourism Sustainability Development Fund to upgrade infrastructure and maintain cleanliness. Tourists under five years are exempt, and the fee is valid for 30 days. The initiative aims to generate revenue for improving roads, tourism facilities, and environmental conservation while ensuring sustainable tourism growth in the state.
