Tata to Invest ₹30,000 Crore in Assam for Electronics & Mobile Manufacturing

Tata Group will set up a large-scale electronics and mobile manufacturing facility in Assam with an investment of ₹30,000 crore over the next five years. The project is expected to generate 30,000 jobs, marking one of the State’s biggest industrial investments.

Tata Sons Chairman Natarajan Chandrasekaran announced the plan at the Advantage Assam 2.0 Summit, following the group’s ₹27,000 crore semiconductor plant in Jagiroad. The new unit aims to strengthen Assam’s electronics sector.

The Tata Group also plans to train 5,000 skilled workers over seven years. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma hailed the initiative as a game-changer for Assam’s industrial growth. The summit has attracted ₹4.91 lakh crore in investment commitments, boosting Assam’s position as an emerging industrial hub.
