The Assam Police Department organises the Sishu Mitra Programme

On Wednesday, Assam Police SPs, SDPOs, and OCs met with children from across the state to raise awareness about children’s rights, safety, and security. They talked with the kids about child marriage, child labour, human trafficking, child sexual abuse, and cyber security.

The Assam Police Department’s goal with this initiative is to reach one lakh children. This outreach initiative is part of the Child Rights Week celebrations organised by the Assam Police Sishu Mitra Programme, the country’s only such initiative.
