Thoubal Residents Call 48-Hour Strike Over Abduction of Two Youths by Kuki militants

Residents of Thoubal district called a 48-hour strike to protest the government’s failure to secure the release of two abducted Meitei youths by Kuki militants. The strike, organized by a Joint Action Committee (JAC), will close Asian Highway No. 1 and all services, except medical and religious activities.

The youths were abducted on September 27 while heading to an Army camp for a recruitment test. Protests have intensified, and the JAC warned of further agitation if no action is taken.
