Tragedy Changed Ajanta Neog’s Life, Led Her Into Politics

Ajanta Neog said destiny brought her into politics after the tragic killing of her husband, former minister Nagen Neog, by ULFA militants following the 1996 Assam Assembly polls.

Neog shared that she was never involved in politics while her husband was alive and was focused on her LLB studies and raising her two children. The incident changed her life completely and motivated her to seek justice, eventually leading her into active politics and becoming a key minister in the Assam Cabinet.
