Train Services Resume in Landslide-Hit Jatinga–Lampur Section

A week after a landslide disrupted the Jatinga–Lampur rail route, passenger train services have resumed, restoring connectivity to Barak Valley, Tripura, Mizoram, and Manipur. The Sealdah–Silchar Kanchanjungha Express became the first to pass the affected section on Sunday. Freight and trial runs were conducted earlier to ensure safety. NFR officials confirmed full operations may resume by Monday. Minor schedule changes are expected. Continuous restoration efforts helped reconnect this vital Northeast corridor.
