Two Arrested for Attack on Dhubri MP Rakibul Hussain

Nagaon Police arrested Basiruddin and Abdul Khalek for their involvement in the February 20 attack on Dhubri MP Rakibul Hussain in Rupahihaat. Viral videos showed Hussain being struck with a cricket bat while his security personnel were also assaulted. His PSOs fired warning shots to disperse the mob.

The attack has sparked political outrage, with Congress alleging a conspiracy. Hussain filed an FIR against 22 individuals, including accusations against the Superintendent of Police. Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma assured enhanced security for Hussain.
