Two Youths from Jorhat Held Captive in Nagaland, Ransom Demanded

Two youths, Zakir Ali and Butu Ali, from Nakachari in Jorhat have been held captive for five days in Longtho, Mokokchung district, Nagaland. A group of Naga men demands the release of three individuals and ₹2.5 lakh for their freedom. The Longtho village council is behind the ransom demand, and locals have surrounded the police station where the youths are held. The families of the captives, unable to secure their release, have reported the issue to the police. Threats have been made to attack the police station if the demands are not met within a day.
