Youth Convicted for Sexual Abuse, Sentenced to 20 Years Imprisonment

In Kokrajhar district, a youth named Sanatan Munda has been convicted under the POCSO Act and sentenced to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment. Munda, aged 22, was arrested in 2022 for sexually abusing a minor girl from Rangiaghutu village. He impregnated the victim, leading to the filing of an FIR by her parents. The Special Judge, Joydev Koch, also imposed a fine of Rs. 30,000, with an additional one-year imprisonment in case of non-payment.
