Youth Critically Injured in Wild Elephant Attack

A 22-year-old youth, Chukhu Obi, from Dobam village suffered critical injuries in a wild elephant attack near Nowbangha Nalla, 7 km from Banderdewa police station.
Obi encountered the elephant while checking on his mithuns in the forest. The animal inflicted severe injuries before retreating. Police, led by Officer-in-Charge Kipa Hamak, along with locals, rescued Obi and rushed him to Tomo Riba Institute of Health & Medical Sciences for treatment.
The incident highlights the persistent challenges of human-wildlife conflict in the region. Authorities urge caution in areas prone to such encounters.
