Youth Electrocuted in Tragic Accident at Jorhat Construction Site

A tragic incident occurred in Assam’s Jorhat district when a youth, Nabajyoti Bora of Baligaon Napamua village, was electrocuted after coming into contact with a high-power electric wire on Tuesday. The incident happened while Bora, a mason, was working under a high-capacity 11,000-kilovolt electric cable during the construction of a two-storey office for the forest department. Despite warnings from locals about the dangers of constructing the building so close to the high-voltage wire, the contractors and departmental officials did not relocate the site. This negligence resulted in Bora’s untimely death, highlighting the risks ignored during the construction process.
