5 arrested in Assam with ivory, tiger canines, and rhinoceros hooves
The Assam Police Special Task Force (STF) reported on Wednesday that it had apprehended five suspected poachers in Nagaon district who were in possession of pangolin scales, deer antlers, tiger canines, rhino hooves, and ivory.
The arrested persons have been identified as Gafar Quresy (24), Okil Quresy (60), Safiqul Islam (39), Ujjal Bharali (20) and Aditya Sarma (23). While Gafar, Okil and Safiqul hail from Jakhalabandha in Nagaon, Bharali is from Rowta in Udalguri district and Sarma from Khanapara in Guwahati.
