The Uttarakhand High Court summoned Assam’s Chief Minister

The Udham Singh Nagar district and sessions court in Uttarakhand summoned Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday in response to a complaint filed by Congress state spokesperson Ganesh Upadhyay regarding alleged defamatory comments made by Sarma against party leader Rahul Gandhi during the 2022 Uttarakhand assembly election campaign.

The summons was issued by the additional sessions judge’s court, which ordered Sarma to “appear before the court on September 21 to respond to the allegations.”
