Excise Department Official Caught in Bribery Case, Rs 47 Lakh Seized

The Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption raided the Guwahati residence of Excise Department official Partha Hazarika, uncovering Rs 47.3 lakh in cash. Earlier, Hazarika was caught accepting a Rs 24,500 bribe for issuing a bar license. A search of his Basistha residence followed, leading to the cash seizure. Hazarika had allegedly demanded Rs 1 lakh for the license and had already received Rs 40,000 before being caught.
