Dhubri Law College Students Protest Over Financial Scam, Demand Inquiry
Students of Dhubri Law College, led by the All Assam Law Students’ Union (AALSU), have entered their third day of an indefinite sit-in strike, demanding an investigation into an alleged multi-crore-rupee financial scam involving the college administration. They accuse the college of misusing student fees and scholarship funds.
The protest, which began on November 5, focuses on financial irregularities linked to admissions and scholarships. AALSU leaders, including Mirza Alam Sheikh and Shahnawaz Hussain Khandkar, have directly accused the principal, Mridula Barman, of orchestrating the scandal. The students have called for a high-level inquiry and state intervention.
