Assam Cabinet Approves Key Decisions

The Assam Cabinet approved the creation of the Barak Valley Development Department on Saturday. Subsidies of ₹2 per liter will be provided to three ethanol production units. Sports pensions will now be ceiling-free. The Cabinet also announced compensation ranging from ₹2-5 lakh for kin of prisoners dying due to unnatural causes, including ₹2 lakh for disputes among prisoners and up to ₹4 lakh for negligence by staff.
