Gauhati High Court Gives Green Signal to Maa Kamakhya Temple Access Corridor Project

The Gauhati High Court has permitted the Assam government to proceed with the Maa Kamakhya Temple Access Corridor Project at Nilachal Hills, Guwahati, disposing of a PIL and a writ petition linked to the project.

The court said the redevelopment would not harm the temple structure or the sacred underground water springs, as the project design incorporates recommendations from IIT Guwahati and the National Institute of Hydrology, Roorkee. Authorities assured that construction would strictly follow approved plans and safeguards.

With these assurances, the court allowed the State to move ahead with the project, aimed at improving pilgrim access and redeveloping the temple area, while granting liberty to revive the petitions if any violations are noticed later.
