BJP Appoints J.P. Nadda as Observer for Assam Government Formation

The BJP has appointed J. P. Nadda as central observer and Nayab Singh Saini as co-observer for the election of the BJP legislative party leader in Assam after the NDA’s massive victory in the Assembly polls.

The BJP-led alliance won 102 out of 126 seats, with the BJP alone securing 82 seats. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma is expected to meet Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya to stake claim for forming the new government.

Sarma also said the swearing-in ceremony may be scheduled based on the availability of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who praised the Assam victory as a result of good governance and public trust.
