Alleged SEBA-DISE Code Scam Unearthed in Nagaon Education Office

Nagaon, Assam: An alleged scam involving the illegal issuance of SEBA and DISE codes to private schools without mandatory approvals has surfaced at the Inspector of Schools’ office in Nagaon. The irregularities, reportedly ongoing since 2024–25, are being investigated following directions from the State Education Council.

Officials suspect that several schools obtained codes using forged documents. The Inspector of Schools has admitted that irregularities have been detected in seven schools, while an inquiry is underway to identify those responsible for the alleged fraud.
