Assam Eyes Major Role in Defence and High-Tech Manufacturing

Guwahati: Assam is emerging as a key destination for defence and high-tech manufacturing, Industry and Commerce Minister Bimal Bora said during a state-level consultation on Atmanirbhar Bharat. He highlighted major investments, including the Tata Semiconductor project at Jagiroad, and said the state’s strategic location, investor-friendly policies, and improving infrastructure make it well-positioned to become a hub for defence manufacturing and industrial growth.
