Assam to Launch One Crore Sapling Plantation Drive

Guwahati, Assam: Assam Forest Minister Jayanta Malla Baruah announced that the state will plant one crore saplings under the Amrit Brikshya Andolan from August 10 to 14, involving around 10 lakh students.

The government will also distribute one crore indigenous fruit saplings under the Phalbari initiative from April next year to promote ecological restoration and food security. The announcements were made during the 77th Van Mahotsav celebrations at Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary.
