Goods-Laden Trucks Resume Movement to Manipur Under Police Escort

Guwahati: The movement of goods-laden trucks along the Assam–Manipur border resumed on Tuesday under police escort after hundreds of vehicles remained stranded for several days due to security concerns.

Truck drivers had reported shortages of food, drinking water and medical aid during the disruption, while transporters suffered losses as essential and perishable goods were delayed. Authorities have now restored the movement of supply vehicles under security cover to ensure the safe delivery of essential commodities to Manipur.
