Meghalaya Govt Studying Long-Term Solutions to Jorabat Flooding: CM Conrad Sangma

Shillong, August 7: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma said the state government is examining all possible causes of the recurring flooding at Jorabat, including the area’s road design and topography. He noted that a bowl-like structure beneath the flyover may be contributing to rapid water accumulation but added that other factors are also being studied.
Sangma said the district administrations of Meghalaya and Assam are working together to identify both temporary and long-term solutions to minimise inconvenience to the public and address the persistent flooding issue.
