Eviction Drive Conducted on Railway Land in Pandu

Guwahati: An eviction drive was carried out in Pandu’s Number 6 area on Thursday to remove alleged encroachments from railway land. The operation, conducted jointly by the Northeast Frontier Railway and district administration, cleared several makeshift and unauthorised structures using bulldozers.

The land clearance is part of preparations for the proposed second double-decker bridge over the Brahmaputra at Saraighat, a major project expected to strengthen road and rail connectivity between Guwahati and the northern bank.
