AASU Slams Price Hike, Demands Immediate Rollback

The All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) strongly criticised the Centre over recent hikes in premium petrol, commercial LPG, essential medicines, and toll charges, calling them a “direct blow” to common people.

AASU president Utpal Sarma and general secretary Samiran Phukan said the decision has increased financial pressure on families already struggling with rising inflation.

They highlighted that higher LPG and medicine prices would hurt low-income groups, while increased toll charges could raise transportation costs and lead to further price rises.

Terming the move “anti-people,” AASU demanded an immediate rollback of all recent price hikes.
