PHED Engineer detained in Morigaon on suspicion of bribery

An engineer from the Assam Public Health Engineering Department was apprehended by the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption team on Thursday in the Morigaon district on suspicion of bribery.

The engineer was reportedly caught red-handed by the anti-corruption squad during an operation after he agreed to pay the complainant a bribe in exchange for processing unpaid bills under the Jal Jeevan Mission.

Nabajyoti Tamuli has been identified as the engineer who was arrested.
