Assam Celebrates International Day for Persons with Disabilities

State Minister Pijush Hazarika attended two events in Guwahati on International Day for Persons with Disabilities. Speaking at programs organized by the Composite Regional Centre and the Department of Social Justice & Empowerment, Hazarika highlighted government initiatives supporting the inclusive development of differently-abled individuals.

During the events, he distributed assistive equipment and felicitated achievers among the differently-abled. Hazarika emphasized the need for compassion and inclusion, citing successful government schemes like Orunodoi, which prioritizes differently-abled individuals.
