Assam Chief Minister’s Wife Sues Congress MP Over Subsidy Allegations

Riniki Bhuyan Sharma, Assam’s Chief Minister’s wife, has filed a lawsuit against Congress Member of Parliament (MP) Gaurav Gogoi.

The defamation suit is based on Gogoi’s claims that Bhuyan Sharma’s company, Pride East Entertainments Pvt Ltd, received a substantial subsidy from the central government in the amount of Rs 10 crore. The case is set to be heard before the Court of Civil Judge (Senior Division) in Kamrup Metro, Guwahati, on September 26, 2023.
