Assam Hit-and-Run: Three Detained After College Students Strike Traffic Police Officer

In a shocking incident in Mariani, Assam, three college students riding a two-wheeler were detained after hitting a traffic police officer, Ibrahim Ali, while he was on duty. The incident occurred as the students, traveling at high speed without helmets, ran over the officer when he attempted to intercept them. Local residents intervened, rescuing the injured officer and taking him to Mariani Primary Health Centre. Later, he was referred to Jorhat Medical College and Hospital for advanced treatment. The accused, found hiding in Mariani Gandhi Nagar, were detained by the police for their involvement in the hit-and-run, and the vehicle was seized.
