Assam Launches Orunodoi 3.0, Expands Reach to 37.2 Lakh Beneficiaries
The Assam government launched its Orunodoi 3.0 scheme, expanding coverage to 37.2 lakh beneficiaries, up from 24.6 lakh in the previous phase. This makes it Assam’s largest Direct Bank Transfer (DBT) initiative.
The scheme now includes widows, unmarried individuals over 45, third-gender persons, disabled individuals, and households earning under ₹2 lakh annually. Beneficiaries will receive ₹1,250 per month.
The government will allocate ₹467 crore monthly, with a total project budget of ₹5,604 crore, aiming for full rollout by January 2024.
