Assam Panchayat Elections 2025: Two-Phase Voting from May 2
Assam will hold Panchayat elections in two phases—May 2 and May 7—with vote counting on May 11. Ballot papers will be used. Nominations close on April 11; withdrawals allowed till April 17. Polling is from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM. Repolling, if needed, will be on May 4 and May 9. Over 1.8 crore voters are expected, with a 13.27% increase since 2018. There will be 25,007 polling stations. Elections cover 21,920 GP seats, 2,192 AP, and 397 ZP posts. GP-level polls will be symbol-free, while AP and ZP will use party symbols. MCC is in effect. Candidates must meet age, sanitation, education, and family norms.
