Assam police bust a fake currency note network and arrested 3

According to officials, Assam police arrested three people and seized a large number of counterfeit notes from their possession on Thursday.

The operation, according to police, was carried out in response to a specific intelligence report that counterfeit currency was being sold at 14th Mile in the Jorabat area on the outskirts of Guwahati.

During the first drive, officials were able to seize notes with a face value of Rs 2 lakhs. According to the police, all of the notes were Rs 500 denominations.

Abdul Kadir, 32, of Gohaindoloni Village, and Samir Uddin, 35, of Ahmedpur Village have been arrested. Both are residents of the Bihpuria Police Station in the North Lakhimpur district.
