Assam vehicles add to the traffic in Shillong, and the government is working on new routes

Tourism Minister Paul Lyngdoh, on Friday stated said that he has directed the officers of the concerned department to engage in dialogue with their Assam counterparts and have them onboard so that the Meghalaya vehicles also do not face problem while commuting to Assam.

“If we stop them from plying to the state, and then they do the same, then we will be in trouble,” he said.

Lyngdoh also mentioned that they are figuring out new routes in which these Assam vehicles can ply directly to locations like Sohra without entering the city and contributing to the traffic situation.
