Businessmen and traders are against moving Fancy Bazar’s wholesale market

Concerns have been raised by traders and businessmen about the state government’s plan to move Fancy Bazar, Guwahati’s main shopping destination, to North Guwahati. The purpose of this decision was to reduce traffic congestion. The traders in question believe that this move will have a detrimental effect on thousands of traders and cause large losses.

One of the traders expressed sorrow over the choice, saying, “This cannot be a positive decision by the government as it will totally impact the business in a negative aspect, affecting small-scale businessmen as well. We urge the government to rethink the decision and construct a separate market in North Guwahati.”
