Anil Baruah, a former editor of Dainik Asam, dies

Anil Baruah, the 84-year-old former editor of the local newspaper “Dainik Asam,” passed away in Guwahati on Tuesday night. Sources claim that Baruah was pronounced dead at 6:50 p.m. on Tuesday after being admitted to a private hospital in Guwahati on Monday night for various age-related illnesses.

The veteran journalist, who was born in 1939, has won multiple honours, including the State Government’s Republic Day Journalism Award.
